Cal-Maine Foods, Inc., founded in 1957 and headquartered in Mississippi, is the largest producer and distributor of shell eggs in the United States. Our integrated operations include hatching chicks, growing and maintaining flocks of pullets, layers, and breeders, manufacturing feed, and producing, processing, packaging, and distributing shell eggs. We sell most of our shell eggs in the U.S.'s southwestern, southeastern, mid-western, and mid-Atlantic regions. Since becoming a public company in 1996, Cal-Maine has continued to grow. The Processing Supervisor job is a management position responsible for supervising hourly staff and ensuring all processing tasks are completed, including the proper grading of eggs, monitoring maintenance and safety programs for machinery; and other duties as assigned.  The Processing Supervisor will follow and enforce all duties, policies, and procedures in regard to general safety, food safety, and food quality.


Responsibilities
  • Supervises hourly employees including, but not limited to, training, planning, assigning, and dispatching work, communicating expectations and evaluating performance, and addressing complaints and seeking problem resolution as quickly as possible.
  • Directs workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
  • Communicates with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards and recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Applies statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and processing standards.
  • Coordinate with Production to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems to get eggs processed, establish maintenance procedures and safety programs for machinery, food safety programs, and other systems.
  • Ensures continuous improvement in process, cost, quality, and production.
  • Monitors compliance with the organization's policies, occupational health and safety practices, as well as all other applicable regulations, and accurately completes documentation as necessary.
  • Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by Processing Manager and General Manager.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university or three to five years' experience and/or training is required.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
  • Availability for night shifts, weekends and holidays when applicable.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced setting and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to balance many projects and operations in a continuously changing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word), preferred.
  • Ability to lead a small team.
  • Forklift Trained or Certified.
  • Good communication skills.
