Job description

Description
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is one of the largest publicly traded partnerships and a leading North American provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Our services include: natural gas gathering, treating, processing, transportation and storage; NGL transportation, fractionation, storage and import and export terminals; crude oil gathering, transportation, storage and terminals; petrochemical and refined products transportation, storage and terminals; and a marine transportation business that operates primarily on the United States inland and Intracoastal Waterway systems. The partnership's assets include approximately 50,000 miles of pipelines; 260 million barrels of storage capacity for NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals; and 14 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage capacity.
The Staff Process Engineer is a technical resource supporting Enterprise's gas processing, liquids processing, separation, and petrochemical operations. This role leverages process engineering expertise and hands-on field experience to develop, scale, and deliver technical training and engineering tools for Process and Operations Engineers.
In addition to providing technical support and mentorship, this role is responsible for translating complex process knowledge into practical training materials, simulations, analytics tools, and best-practice workflows that improve safety, reliability, and operational performance across the enterprise. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Process Engineering
  • Serve as a technical resource for natural gas processing, liquids processing, separation, and petrochemical facilities and projects.
  • Provide process design, design oversight, commissioning, and start-up support for new and existing assets.
  • Conduct equipment performance evaluations including exchanger design versus actual duty, pump efficiency, relief valve calculations, equipment sizing, fired equipment optimization, and plant performance testing.
  • Develop and review process models and simulations using industry-standard software to evaluate design, operations, and performance scenarios.
  • Serve as a mentor and technical advisor to Process Engineers and Operations Engineers across the organization.

Training Development & Delivery
  • Lead the development of engineering training programs grounded in hands-on operating experience and engineering best practices.
  • Assess training needs for Process and Operations Engineers and develop curriculum aligned with technical and operational requirements.
  • Develop training materials including presentations, technical reference documents, simulations, and lessons learned case studies.
  • Deliver training in classroom settings as well as in the field through plant walk-downs, demonstrations, and practical exercises.
  • Develop and maintain refresher training content to reinforce critical process safety, operational, and reliability concepts.
  • Maintain training documentation, schedules, and records.
  • Continuously improve training content by incorporating participant feedback, lessons learned, incident learnings, and changes in industry standards.

Technical Tools, Analytics & Scalability
  • Develop and support technical tools and business process workflows that enable consistent, high-quality process and operational decision-making at scale.
  • Partner with Operations, Reliability, and Technical Services teams to identify recurring engineering or operational challenges and translate them into scalable tools or analytical solutions.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, Operations Analytics, and IT teams to ensure operational data availability and usability for engineering tools and utilize AI enabled analytics to support performance monitoring and early warning identification.
  • Document best practices, standard methodologies, and lessons learned to support enterprise-wide knowledge sharing.
