Job Description
WGL - Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS) Lead
The Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS) Lead is responsible for the development, implementation, administration and continuous improvement of PSMS in accordance with API RP 1173. Works with departments throughout the company to provide education on the elements of PSMS and identify gaps where PSMS should be implemented to provide for continuous safety culture improvement. Measures the company's PSMS maturity of the program through periodic surveys.
You Will:
  • Design, develop, implement and monitor the PSMS framework with an overarching focus to drive standardized processes, reduce risk, eliminate failure modes and ensure compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong companywide knowledge of PSMS while driving continuous improvement with the PSMS culture across the company.
  • Engage with business units to create defined timelines for the implementation of process safety recommendations and continuous improvement goals.
  • Maintain currency with industry best practices and trends. Share this knowledge with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Responsible for oversight of management of change (MOC) for Asset Management, Engineering and Operations.
  • Work with the O&M (Operations and Maintenance) Codes and Standards team to assure that standards and programmatic documents required by API RP 1173 are in alignment with PSMS goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboard of PSMS related KPIs to measure continuous improvement progress.
  • Measure the company's PSMS maturity of the program through periodic surveys and/or audits.

You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Gas Engineering or other technical field, preferably in engineering, required
  • 5+ Years experience in energy, manufacturing, utilities or chemical industries with demonstrated experience in: engineering, manufacturing, operations, capital projects
  • Working knowledge of safety management systems and API RP 1173 required
  • Working knowledge of natural gas operations and CFR 49 Part 192 preferred
  • Ability to partner with, influence and guide decision making at senior leadership levels within the Company.

We offer a competitive salary range of $114,700 to $149,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
