Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality and yield, and lead capital projects that drive operational excellence. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in process improvement, equipment validation, new product commercialization, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated food manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, shelf life, and yield.
  • Analyze Loss of Sterility (LOS) and spoilage data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Lead capital projects from concept through commissioning, including equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and FDA compliance.
  • Support new product development, process design, and commercialization efforts.
  • Design, install, commission, and troubleshoot production equipment and process improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams.
  • Develop vendor partnerships and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Apply statistical analysis and continuous improvement tools to enhance plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, FDA, and plant safety requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and support other engineering initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in the food or beverage industry, preferably in an aseptic processing environment.
  • Experience with thermal processing, FDA validation, and capital projects.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Wisconsin Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management certification.
