What You'll Do:
  • Create a work environment and team approach in accordance with the core principles of Loparex: Safety, Quality, Efficiency.
  • Incorporate safety into all aspects of daily responsibilities and to be a leader in building safety into workplace culture.
  • Targeted manufacturing and maintenance support, including but not limited to safety, quality, product trials, equipment optimization, establishing SOCs, and troubleshooting.
  • Execution of improvement activities, including but not limited to lean manufacturing principles, six sigma projects, and data analysis. Drive CI principles at the asset level and across adjacent groups.
  • Disposition of non-conforming products and investigation into root cause.
  • Supervise successful commissioning and/or implementation of new or modified equipment.
  • Process optimization with focus on high risk/process failure areas with a focus on troubleshooting.
  • Development of new products and processes in pursuit of Loparex core principles.
  • Training Loparex employees in all new processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficient execution.
  • Identification of equipment upgrades in line with Loparex core principles, documentation of justification, and follow-through on successful implementation.
  • Liaison between Technical Services and the plant to ensure successful execution of trials.
  • Responsible for technical problem definition and solution in manufacturing environment. Interfaces with multiple departments incorporating changes to the designs which improve manufacturability and quality.
  • Determines the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control through the application of Lean principles as they apply to site KPI's.
  • Perform assignments requiring use and application of standard engineering economics and product development principles and techniques.
  • Must be available to be on call nights and weekends for production support on a rotational basis.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree STEM related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years previous Process Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • In absence of degree, 8+ years of demonstrated continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of extrusion coating, silicone coating, printing and slitting process preferred.
  • Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, SAP, DELMIA Apriso).
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques including: SPC, design of experiments, and quality improvement systems.
  • Six Sigma Green and/or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes.
