Location: Sarasota, FL
Reports To: Plant Manager

LaFrance is driving the next phase of manufacturing excellence at our Sarasota plant. We are seeking a Process & Quality Manager to build, implement, and sustain a modern, process-driven operating and quality system aligned with ISO 9001 fundamentals.

This is a hands-on, technical leadership role focused on strengthening manufacturing processes, reducing variation, and establishing durable systems that elevate plant performance, customer confidence, and leadership capability.

Responsibilities

Process Control & Manufacturing

  • Process Control & Manufacturing Excellence
  • Lead process excellence and process improvement across injection molding, hot stamping, painting/finishing, adhesive assembly, and warehousing operations.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering to define critical process parameters, standard work, and control plans.
  • Shift the organization from inspection-based quality to process-driven execution

Results Orientation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead analysis and corrective action using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC).
  • Drive systemic, sustainable improvements that reduce rework, scrap, and customer issues.
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities tied directly to plant results.

Customer & Supplier Interface

  • Serve as a technical quality and process liaison for key customers as needed, supporting audits, reviews, and improvement initiatives.
  • Translate customer expectations into internal operating discipline and system improvements.
  • Support supplier quality where applicable.

Quality Systems & Structure

  • Design and implement a practical Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001 principles (certification not required).
  • Establish foundational policies, procedures, and controls that are actively used on the manufacturing floor.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year quality and process improvement roadmap with defined milestones.

Plant Standards & Environment

  • Establish and sustain manufacturing standards related to housekeeping, equipment condition, and workplace organization.
  • Partner with Operations to elevate plant discipline and visual professionalism consistent with customer expectations.

Leadership & Influence

  • Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Coach leaders and operators on quality fundamentals, process thinking, and execution discipline.
  • Provide clear, fact-based progress updates and recommendations to plant leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality, process engineering, or operational excellence roles.
  • Hands-on experience working within or implementing ISO 9001-aligned systems.
  • Strong background in process-driven manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to lead change and build systems in established operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience modernizing or stabilizing legacy manufacturing operations.
  • Exposure to global manufacturing standards and practices.
