Job description

Manufacturing / Process Improvement Engineer Recruiting Firm: Symbiotic Services Department: Operations / Process Improvement FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary Symbiotic Services is seeking a Manufacturing / Process Improvement Engineer to support a variety of manufacturing initiatives focused on reducing costs, improving throughput, enhancing quality, and increasing operational efficiency. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement efforts and optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is results-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of influencing and motivating teams while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods that meet product specifications and quality standards. Manage project schedules to ensure timely completion and alignment with production requirements. Drive improvements in labor costs, productivity, efficiency, quality, and other key performance metrics.

Design and optimize plant layouts, systems, equipment, and workflows for maximum efficiency. Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new and revised products, including training and performance evaluation. Collaborate with management, engineering, and operations teams regarding manufacturing capabilities and production schedules.

Partner with sales, planning, and design teams to improve product design, tooling, and manufacturing efficiency. Design, develop, test, source, and justify manufacturing tools, machinery, and equipment. Work with vendors to determine specifications and procure equipment that meets operational and quality requirements.

Utilize statistical methods and process analysis to support cost reduction, quality improvement, and operational excellence. Represent manufacturing and engineering on cross-functional project teams. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 3-5 years of manufacturing experience. Experience with manufacturing technologies, processes, and systems, including Oracle or similar ERP platforms.

Knowledge of process improvement and manufacturing engineering principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Management.

Project management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams.

Ability to exercise sound judgment while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Oracle ERP experience. Experience in automotive, furniture, or general manufacturing environments.

AutoCAD experience. PLC knowledge. Bilingual Spanish proficiency.

Experience with labor analysis tools such as MODAPT, MTM, or similar systems. Work Environment & Leadership Expectations Fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities. Strong focus on detail, efficiency, and results.

Collaborative decision-making with input from stakeholders. Ability to influence, train, and motivate teams. Effective follow-up and project accountability.
