About the role:
As an Engineering Manager, you'll guide a cross-functional team of backend, frontend, and infrastructure engineers to build reliable, scalable web applications and services that power our software development teams. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, performance, and maintainability of our systems while helping your team deliver features quickly and effectively.
What you'll do:
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ~10 engineers (frontend, backend, and infrastructure), fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Set the strategic foundational direction for platform engineering across the entire Exiger engineering organization
  • Define short-term and long-term platform deliverable and ensure all active projects are aligned to leadership goals
  • Act as an organizational resource to unblock and enable multiple engineering teams across diverse platform challenges
  • Design solutions and processes that have meaningful impact across the entire tech org and Exiger's business and Manage major company-level platform initiatives delivered by multiple teams
  • Instill and promote a culture of learning, engineering excellence, and platform ownership across engineering
  • Contribute to financial planning and the long-term success of the platform team with the business
  • Engage with AWS account teams, evaluate new AWS services for adoption, and influence how Exiger leverages AWS's evolving platform
  • Own organizational runbook and platform documentation standards; ensure operational knowledge scales with the engineering organization
  • Lead hiring strategy and technical interview calibration for platform engineering; partner with engineering leadership on team growth
  • Ensure operational excellence, managing the CI/CD lifecycle, testing, deployments and self-healing architectures
  • Scale systems and processes as the company grows-helping us transition from rapid development to sustainable, high-quality delivery at scale

What you bring to the team:
  • Unyielding sense of ownership and accountability - you care about your work and it shows
  • 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience including strong background in backend systems or data-intensive applications
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience leading software teams
  • Complete understanding of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and IAC
  • Experience building and scaling mission-critical, API-first PaaS and SaaS systems, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural vision
  • Proven track record of mentorship and fostering growth of engineers at all levels
  • Passion for data, analytics, and using technology to uncover meaningful insights
  • Experience working at a rapidly evolving, PE-backed startup
  • Bonus points for experience operating in an air-gapped FedRAMP or DOD I/L environment
