Essential Duties:

  • Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to improve efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Conduct process simulations, heat and material balance calculations, and scale-up activities from lab/pilot to production.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and other technical documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, yield improvement, and waste minimization.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Lead or participate in hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), risk assessments, and safety reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, operations, and project teams to implement new technologies and process improvements.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to plant personnel on process engineering fundamentals and safe work practices.
  • Support capital projects by defining process requirements, evaluating vendor proposals, and overseeing commissioning/start-up activities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards.
  • Track and report process KPIs to management, recommending strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Manage chemical process improvement and expansion projects, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements while meeting project timelines and budget objectives.

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • EXPERIENCE: 7-10 years of experience, PSM experience is preferred
  • TRAVEL: 10%
  • OTHER:
    • Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening
    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
