Position: Process Engineer

Location: Northwestern Suburbs of Chicago, IL - McHenry, IL

Full Time Permanent

Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000


I am looking for an experienced Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations, process improvement initiatives, new product introductions, and engineering projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


In this role you will work closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency, support validation activities, and drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.


Overview of Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and develop solutions to improve process performance.
  • Support new product introductions and process implementation activities.
  • Develop and execute process studies, validations, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, procedures, and technical records.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support change management activities.
  • Utilize statistical tools and data analysis to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership to achieve operational goals.
  • Support efforts to reduce scrap, downtime, and manufacturing costs while improving product quality.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with process validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ and DOE preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing training/certification.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
  • Experience supporting quality systems, CAPA investigations, and process capability improvements.
