Job Description:

The Process Engineer is responsible for implementing processes to improve the efficiency of Cambria's production operations. He/she will also monitor, troubleshoot and improve existing processes and systems that affect line output. This position will implement mechanical and procedural initiatives to maintain the Cambria manufacturing process. Cambria's operations require a high level of analytical thinking, interpersonal communication and problem solving abilities. Process Engineers will be required to work with a variety of skill sets and should be able to adapt to different working environments. This essential role plays a large part in the productivity of several departments and is a vital contributor to the overall success of the production and efficiency of the plant.
Position Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assist R&D with new product development
  • Commercialize, identify and design new production technologies
  • Co-own the maintenance of design recipes
  • Track, identify and implement solutions for process efficiency
  • Implement ergonomic and safety improvements throughout various teams
  • Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Collaborate with and mentor Process Control Technicians and Process Control Engineers, with continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, and write English to effectively communicate with team
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Suite)
  • Detail oriented

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Identify bottlenecks in the process and develop solutions to improve its performance
  • Perform downtime analysis and work with necessary departments to develop and implement solutions to minimize equipment downtime
  • Monitor and improve slab quality
  • Track OEE and address underperforming segments of metric
  • Maintain a priority for safety and engage in initiatives within area of ownership
  • Work in a multi directional environment with responsibilities in both process and production line
  • Collaborate with and mentor Process Control Technicians and Process Control Engineers, with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Project Engineering in designing, commissioning, and optimizing new equipment
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the mechanical processes of each machine
  • Perform process control checks and actively communicate the results
  • Coordinate trials by developing testing protocols, adapting protocols, or managing data
  • Stay engaged with production scheduling to coordinate improvements
  • Assist Process Control Technician in troubleshooting
  • Perform job duties safely as outlined in the Process Technology Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull 100 lbs.
  • Stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria
  • Occasionally work in wet and/or humid conditions
  • Work in a non-climate controlled environment
  • Separate slabs using a separator tool in both racks and A-frames
  • Climb in and out of a forklift multiple times throughout day
  • Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout day
  • Bend over multiple times throughout day

Cambria's starting salary range for this position is $61,000-$78,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
