Process Control Engineer

Peoria, Illinois (Onsite)

Job Description & Skill Requirement:

  • Process Control Engineer is responsible for managing successful implementation sourcing and source moves for complex Iron Castings and Machined Iron Castings with internal or external manufacturing sources.
  • PPAP and APQP is a main job function.ย 
  • This position will be responsible for analysing quote analysis for best TCO Total Cost of Ownership, managing source moves from current to new supplier, monitoring buffer inventory, managing tool moves associated with source change, working closely with Category Buyers, Design Engineers to ensure all requirements for quality, volume, supplier readiness are met, preparing and presenting to Project Stakeholders.ย 
  • This job role responsibility includes scope from quote to production, Candidate needs to have strong Purchasing, business acumen, presentation, computer skills.
  • Experience in Purchasing Business Acumen, Global Team Coordination.
  • Casting, Machining, Engineering, Project Management, New Product Introduction, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, and Quality experience will all be beneficial.ย 

Skills:

  • PPAP and APQP experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data.
  • Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.ย ย  Ability to evaluate suppliers.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, database management.ย  Power BI and Tableau experience will be beneficial.ย ย 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or significant relevant industry experience required.ย ย  PPAP and APQP experience required.
  • 7 years minimum related experience required in any of the following: Purchasing, Casting, Machining, Engineering, Project Management, New Product Introduction, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, Quality
  • Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented.
  • Ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively.

Lean Manufacturing:

  • Level Working Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
