What is a process automation?

A Process Automation job involves designing, implementing, and optimizing automated systems to improve business efficiency. Professionals in this role use technologies like robotic process automation (RPA), workflow automation, and AI to streamline repetitive tasks, reduce errors, and enhance productivity. They collaborate with various departments to analyze processes, identify automation opportunities, and develop solutions. This role requires knowledge of automation tools, programming skills, and an understanding of business operations.

What do process automation professionals do?

Professionals in Process Automation often work on projects such as automating repetitive manual tasks, streamlining data entry processes, and integrating disparate systems to reduce errors and improve efficiency. Their daily responsibilities might include designing automation workflows, developing and testing bots or scripts, analyzing current processes to identify automation opportunities, and collaborating closely with IT and business teams to ensure successful implementation. The work environment is usually collaborative, with regular cross-functional meetings and problem-solving sessions. These roles offer significant opportunities for growth, as process automation is increasingly central to digital transformation initiatives across many industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed for process automation?

To thrive in Process Automation, you need a strong background in process analysis, workflow optimization, and programming or scripting, often supported by a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with automation platforms such as RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism), PLC programming, and relevant certifications like Certified Automation Professional (CAP) are frequently required. Analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and effective collaboration skills are essential for communicating solutions and driving continuous improvement. These capabilities are crucial for successfully designing, implementing, and maintaining automation systems that enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an AI & Process Automation Specialist to drive efficiency and innovation across our operations. In this role, you will implement cutting-edge AI solutions (including Large Language Models and other automation tools) to streamline business processes and boost company efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and lead AI-driven initiatives that modernize how we work. This position is hybrid, based in Farmers Branch, TX, with 4 days on-site and 1 day remote each week. If you’re excited about leveraging AI to solve problems and improve systems in a supportive, values-driven team, we’d love to hear from you.

Web Development: Hands-on experience building and deploying modern web applications using Next.js (React framework), TypeScript/JavaScript, and Tailwind CSS, with deployment via Vercel. Familiarity with REST/GraphQL API integration and responsive design.

Database & Cloud: Experience with Azure SQL Database (or similar cloud-based relational databases) — schema design, query optimization using T-SQL, and managing connections via tools like Azure Data Studio or SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). General familiarity with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (e.g., Azure App Service, Azure Functions) is a plus.

Data Engineering: Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Python (pandas, SQLAlchemy), or dbt. Ability to structure, clean, and move data reliably between systems (Azure SQL, POS/ERP platforms, and dashboards) using version control (Git/GitHub) to support the AI and automation initiatives described above.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS (LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field requirement.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of hands-on experience in AI automation, process automation, or data-driven operations. Early career professionals with relevant project experience (including vibe coding projects) are welcome.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex datasets and processes to find inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Comfort working with ambiguous or high-level requirements and rapidly iterating solutions is a strong plus.
  • Collaboration & Communication Skills: Excellent teamwork and communication abilities. Proven capacity to coordinate projects, work cross-functionally, and drive initiatives to completion. Ability to effectively articulate high-level “vibes” or conceptual requirements to both technical teams and AI coding tools is highly desirable.
  • Project Management (Preferred but not required): Experience managing projects (e.g., scoping requirements, assigning tasks, meeting deadlines) is a plus.

Technical Proficiency:

  • AI/Automation: Experience with AI tools and frameworks (e.g. chatbots, robotic process automation, machine learning models). Strong preference for candidates experienced in AI-augmented development workflows.
  • Programming & Scripting: Proficiency in Python or similar languages to build and maintain automation scripts or workflows. Experience with vibe coding practices is highly valued.
  • Vibe Coding & AI-Assisted Development (Highly Valued): Demonstrated experience with vibe coding using modern AI coding agents and tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Replit Agent, or similar). This includes using natural-language prompting to describe desired functionality (“the vibe”), rapidly generating and iterating on code, reviewing and refining AI-generated output, and accelerating automation development.
  • Automation Platforms: Familiarity with Microsoft Power Automate or similar workflow tools.
  • Data Management (Preferred but Not Required): Exposure to managing and manipulating data in SQL databases, creating dashboards in Power BI, and optimizing data pipelines.

OFFERED

  • Benefits Package: Medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement savings plan; paid time off.
  • Professional Growth: Training, mentorship, and opportunities to work on cross-department projects.
  • Collaborative Culture: A supportive environment that values innovation, teamwork, and diverse perspectives.
