Job description

We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning Paralegal to join our team and work closely with our estate planning attorneys throughout the client lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience preparing estate planning documents and managing estate planning matters from initial client information gathering through document preparation, attorney review, execution, and finalization.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who understands the importance of accuracy in estate planning and enjoys working directly with attorneys and clients.

Compensation:

$65,000 - $70,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Support attorneys in the preparation and management of estate planning matters from inception through completion

  • Prepare and revise estate planning documents, including: Wills, Revocable and irrevocable trusts, Powers of attorney, health care directives, living wills, beneficiary designations, and other related estate planning documents

  • Review client information and financial/family information for completeness and accuracy

  • Assist attorneys in identifying appropriate estate planning documents and gathering information necessary for drafting

  • Prepare drafts for attorney review and incorporate revisions accurately

  • Coordinate the estate planning document execution process with clients and attorneys

  • Coordinate notarization and witness requirements for estate planning documents

  • Assist with trust funding, asset titling, beneficiary designations, and related follow-up

  • Communicate with clients professionally and compassionately regarding document preparation, outstanding information, execution, and follow-up items

  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic client files

  • Track deadlines, outstanding items, and matter status to ensure each estate planning matter moves forward efficiently

  • Follow firm procedures and workflows to maintain consistency and quality across matters

  • Work closely with attorneys and other team members to identify and resolve issues before they delay a matter

  • Handle confidential client and financial information with a high degree of discretion

  • Assist with special projects and other estate planning-related responsibilities as needed


Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, with significant experience in estate planning preferred

  • Hands-on experience preparing and working with estate planning documents

  • Strong understanding of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related estate planning concepts

  • Knowledge of Florida estate planning practices and procedures strongly preferred

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines

  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills

  • Comfortable communicating directly with clients in a professional and compassionate manner

  • Ability to identify missing information, inconsistencies, and potential issues and bring them to the attorney’s attention

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
