We are seeking a qualified tax and estate planning attorney with 2-5+ years of relevant experience to join the firm. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in all areas of trusts, estates, and taxes. The attorney will represent clients in the administration of trusts and estates, and prepare probate pleadings and related legal matters as well as prepare and/or review tax returns including 1040s, 1041s and 706s and 709s. The attorney will work on a wide variety of cases and possess exemplary communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, strong project management experience, and the ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple projects.
Prior knowledge of Tax Preparation is not required, but preferred
Job Duties
- Draft and assist in preparing estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, etc.)
- Support and manage probate and trust administration matters under supervision as needed
- Prepare and file court pleadings and related legal documents
- Assist in advising clients on estate planning and related tax considerations
- Conduct legal research and issue spotting related to estate and probate matters
- Maintain organized case files and documentation
- Collaborate with attorneys and internal tax/accounting staff on client matters
- Provide responsive and professional client communication and support
Skills & Requirements
- Active Florida Bar license (required)
- Approximately 2–4 years of experience in estate planning, probate, or related practice area
- Strong writing, drafting, and analytical skills
- Ability to learn quickly and take direction in a collaborative environment
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional and effective communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to learn firm systems, including Tabs3/Billing software
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to estate planning, probate, or tax-related matters (internship or practice experience)
- CPA license or tax/accounting background (not required)
- Interest in developing knowledge of tax-integrated estate planning strategies
- Experience working in a small firm or team-oriented environment
Education and Experience
- Admitted to and in good standing with the Florida Bar
- CPA a plus
