We are excited to announce an opening for a full-time Urgent Care Physician Assistant at Pro Health Cardiology and Consulting Center in Woodbridge, New Jersey. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your advanced clinical skills to provide high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent medical issues. Your expertise will allow you to assess, diagnose, and treat patients, driving positive health outcomes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The Physician Assistant will work onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center located in Woodbridge, NJ. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, with shifts starting at 5:00 PM. This role requires interaction with a variety of healthcare professionals and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork and shared goals. Our facility is equipped with modern medical technology, and staff are encouraged to engage in continuous learning and skills development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including taking medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood panels, X-rays, and other imaging studies to inform patient care.
  • Diagnose and manage a range of acute conditions such as respiratory infections, minor injuries, and chronic disease exacerbations.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for chronic health issues, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Prescribe medications and monitor therapeutic outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize health results.
  • Keep meticulous records of patient interactions and treatment plans in our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Communicate health education to patients and families, providing information on preventative care and wellness strategies.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and case discussions to enhance patient care strategies and outcomes.
  • Maintain current certifications and participate in ongoing professional development through workshops and training courses.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves caring for diverse patient demographics, including individuals with acute health issues, chronic conditions, and those in need of preventive healthcare. You will engage with patients of all ages, adapting your approach to each patientโ€™s unique circumstances while ensuring that they understand their health conditions and treatment options.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • A valid Physician Assistant license in the state of New Jersey (PA-C).
  • A current DEA number is required for prescribing medications.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Strong ethical framework and commitment to providing patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, demonstrating patience and composure in urgent situations.
Preferred Experience
  • Proven experience as a Physician Assistant in urgent care, emergency room, or similar high-acuity settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of health regulations and guidelines pertaining to patient care.
  • Experience using EHR software for clinical documentation and data management.
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus but not required, as they can enhance patient interactions in our diverse community.
Compensation and Benefits
