Job description

Marketing and Communications Manager Position


The Marketing and Communications Manager position is a high energy position helping support fundraising and stewardship objectives, communications and marketing activities aimed at donors, admissions, alumni, alumni parents and current families. This position focuses on content creation to help increase revenue and retention with these audiences. Additionally, the role includes ensuring that all materials sent or presented representing SJND are reviewed by the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure we follow school protocol and our brand.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, create, and execute Advancement and Admissions marketing campaigns to deliver targeted messaging and calls to action

  • Work with the Director of Development to create a communications marketing calendar that includes a schedule for appeals, mailings, alumni newsletters, events and impact status reports.

  • Editor of the schoolโ€™s annual magazine: collaboratively select story content, photos and artwork that resonates with target audience

    • Collaborate with writers: relay story ideas, facilitate interviews, work with writer to edit magazine, ensure timely project completion by all parties

    • Schedule photoshoots, in-house and/or freelance, gather and organize assets

    • Work directly with printing press: set print and hit mailbox dates, review proofs, coordinate payment, complete and send final edits

  • Generate high-quality written and visual content for the SJND website, digital platforms, and Advancement and approve Admissions communications

  • Work with the Database Manager to execute queries/lists for Advancement and Admissions communications

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Understands and supports the values of Catholic school education and the SJND mission

  • Experience with multimedia applications in the areas of audio, video and graphics

  • Has the ability to provide big picture strategic thinking, vision and insights to drive big ideas and initiatives

  • Strong graphic design skill set

  • Working knowledge of email marketing

  • Experience with Constant Contact, Canva, SEO, Social Media Platforms, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field of study such as Marketing or Communications, or the equivalent work related experience

  • 3+ years experience in marketing

  • Ability to occassionaly work non-traditional hours with possible evening and weekend meetings/activities

  • Compliance with the Safe Environment Requirements

  • This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week without benefits

  • Salary range: $37.50 - $45/HR
