Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Technical Program Manager to support projects with the US Space Force. This role is remote but with a location preference of Colorado Springs, CO.
Support of a broad range of solutions spanning from foundational cloud computing infrastructure to mission-specific software applications and software development services to include, but are not limited to: Advanced cloud-native infrastructure and services; Scalable and secure platform solutions; Agile software development methodologies and tooling; Mission-driven C2 applications; Data integration, management, and visualization capabilities; and Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML); and Cybersecurity and zero-trust architecture.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Government customer, leading overall program execution, communication, and delivery across all program phases.
  • Own and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) where applicable, including development, maintenance, and execution of schedule baselines; ensure alignment across technical teams, subcontractors, and customer milestones.
  • Develop, maintain, and control the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and associated program baselines, ensuring traceability between scope, schedule, cost, and deliverables.
  • Manage end-to-end program execution from PWS baseline through task order delivery, ensuring performance against cost, schedule, technical, and quality objectives.
  • Oversee/Lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of complex satellite ground system software and architecture components—including mission planning, integration and test, modeling/simulation frameworks, and satellite operations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Agile development, including disciplined sprint planning, backlog prioritization, increment planning, and integration with IMS-driven milestones.
  • Coordinate program controls activities, including cost forecasting, schedule performance tracking, earned value (as applicable), risk and opportunity management, and change control.
  • Ensure compliance with programmatic and contractual requirements including milestone reviews and tracking, systems engineering processes, cybersecurity (e.g., RMF), and configuration/change management, and data deliverables.
  • Forecast future customer needs, derive requirements, develop and coordinate task order execution plans aligned with customer priorities and funding profiles.
  • Support, and as required, lead pre-RFP / pre-award capture activities, including solution shaping, technical strategy development, ROM inputs, basis of estimate support, risk identification, transition planning, and proposal execution to ensure executable, competitive program baselines aligned with customer objectives.
  • Direct and integrate work across multiple technical domains and agile teams (e.g., development, modeling, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, ops, etc.).
  • Identify, assess, and manage technical, schedule, and programmatic risks, providing data-driven recommendations and early warning indicators to leadership and the customer.
  • Foster strong collaboration between customer stakeholders, facilitating regular demonstrations, planning sessions, and reviews. • Support system design and delivery decisions with deep understanding of space domain operations, ground enterprise architecture, and mission needs.
  • Oversee staffing, resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking across functional workstreams.
  • Regularly provide clear, concise progress reporting, including status briefings, milestone documentation, and deliverable submissions.
  • Champion disciplined program management practices, a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the program team.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • U.S. Citizenship and Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with Special Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex $50M+, multi-year DoD/federal programs, including software development, solution delivery, or system integration projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing programs involving space or satellite ground systems, including mission management, telemetry/data processing, or space weather monitoring systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ground system architecture, including data ingest pipelines, cloud-based operations, and model integration frameworks
  • Expertise managing programs under Agile methodologies with responsibility for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-subcontractor efforts with responsibility for technical integration and performance tracking.
  • Experience developing, reviewing and coordinating Integrated Master Schedules.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement and management skills.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • Experience supporting DoD, US Space Force, NOAA, NASA, or similar civilian space focused agencies.
  • Familiarity with space missions, space weather data products, or satellite ground systems, and modeling and forecasting workflows.
  • Understanding of system cybersecurity and authorization processes (e.g., RMF, FedRAMP).
  • Experience managing contracts with milestone-based deliverables or incentive-based payment structures.
  • PMP, PgMP, CISSP, or other relevant certification.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education amp; experience - and the position level. $145,000 - $180,000
