Position Description
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions
The University of the Pacific School of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a Lecturer/Adjunct (part-time) faculty member with expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM), Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), and digital construction workflows
The primary responsibility of this position is to teach a cross-listed upper division/graduate level course in building information modeling) during the Fall 2026 semester, including the following activities:
  • Manage all aspects of the course, including the development of course plan, development of assignments, grading of student work, and submission of grades. A comprehensive set of materials from previous offerings of the course will be available.
  • Conduct two weekly classroom sessions in-person on the Stockton campus.
  • Collect student performance assessment data.
  • Hold regular office hours to support students.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in project management in engineering or construction environments.
  • Industry experience in BIM, VDC, or digital construction workflows including leadership roles in implementation or coordination.
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Prior university-level teaching experience.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Industry experience in engineering or construction project leadership roles.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Hiring Range
