Job description

NPG/KQ2 in St. Joseph, MO is seeking a full-time Technical Director to join our Operations Department. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to be challenged and work in a fast-paced environment.

You will be expected to direct our live weekday newscasts (5pm, 5:30pm, 6pm, 9pm and 10pm Newscasts). Pre-production includes recording News Teases and Interview segments. Additional duties may be assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Operations Manager.

Television is fast paced and always changing; we are looking for someone who is adaptable to new technologies, tasks, and workflows. You should possess basic computer skills as well as be good at trouble shooting problems. Having reliable transportation and being dependable is an absolute must for this position.

Technical Director: Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm

If you think you would enjoy this job and would like to join the team, we would love to meet you. Relatable television experience is preferred but not required. All training will be provided.

Minimum Physical Requirements of Position

  • Positioned in front of monitor - 3 to 8 hours of each shift
  • Use of fingers to operate ROSS switcher/keyboard and mouse - 4 to 8 hours of each shift
  • Walk from one area of department to another - as needed
  • Vision, specifically near acuity within 20-foot range -- 8 hours of each shift
  • Speaking/communication with team - 8 hours of each shift
  • Listening for verbal cues and direction -- 8 hours of each shift
