Job Summary/Description:
Are you a recent or upcoming broadcast journalism graduate contemplating what's next? WCTV is partnering with Press Forward North Florida for a local news fellowship. This is a full-time position over the course of a two-year fellowship.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- This fellowship will focus on solutions-based journalism and local news coverage.
- The fellow will receive training and coaching on all aspects of news content gathering, including operating cameras, editing video, and writing for digital, streaming, or broadcast presentation.
- As a part of the fellowship, this individual's work will be shared with other member outlets.
- The fellowship will last a total of two years.
- While employment may be offered after the completion of the fellowship, it is not guaranteed.
- This fellowship opportunity is facilitated by Press Forward North Florida and funded by a grant from The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree in journalism or a similar program
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- At least 18 years old
- Special consideration will be given to upcoming or recent graduates of Florida A&M University's College of Journalism & Graphic Communication program
- While a journalism degree from Florida A&M University is not required, the strongest candidates will have journalism coursework and media-related experience, from either student media or other outlets.
