Marine Welder / Fitter

Position Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking experienced Marine Welders and Pipe Fitters to support fabrication, repair, and installation work on vessels, barges, and marine structures. Candidates should be skilled in structural and pipe welding, capable of working from blueprints and specifications, and comfortable operating in shipyard, dry dock, and onboard vessel environments.

This role is ideal for dependable trades professionals with strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and experience in marine or heavy industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural and pipe welding on marine vessels, barges, and related structures
  • Execute SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes on:
    • Carbon steel
    • Stainless steel
    • Aluminum
  • Fit, fabricate, and install piping systems and structural components
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ABS/USCG specifications
  • Conduct repair, modification, and new installation work in shipyard and marine environments
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards and quality requirements
  • Work effectively in shop settings, dry docks, and onboard vessels
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in marine welding, pipe fitting, or heavy industrial fabrication
  • Proficiency with SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW welding processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding specifications
  • Ability to pass a hands-on weld test
  • Strong understanding of shipyard safety practices
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and confined spaces as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) welding certifications
  • U.S. Coast Guard welding certifications
  • Shipyard experience
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
