Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Press Foreman in our Leetonia, OH location.  The Press Foreman plays a crucial role in manufacturing processes by overseeing the scheduling and production of the Press Team Apprentices, Press Team, and Press Operators. The Press Foreman monitors the team's processes of operating and maintaining presses to produce a variety of metal products and ensures product quality standards are met.

This is a night shift position.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Organizes operations on the press floor through direction from the Supervisor
  • Plans daily work schedules based on customer needs and expectations 
  • Assists Supervisor on manning hours required to complete assigned tasks 
  • Assists Supervisor in scheduling team to cover vacations or days off
  • Regulates all overtime hours 
  • Monitors or assists in the training of all personnel in the press area 
  • Monitors daily production levels 
  • Performs (and enforces) quality checks and recording of data in SQC 
  • Assists in weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end inventories 
  • Performs production duties of team members within the extrusion area as needed to ensure production schedules are met 
  • Assists in general shop housekeeping, and ensures a neat, orderly work area is maintained 
  • Updates communication board and conducts daily meetings with press team 
  • Follow Company rules and regulations regarding work and safety practices 
  • Trains/Certifies Team Members for Crane/Tow Motor use 
  • Other duties as assigned 
Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education 

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Additional technical or vocational training in machine operation or a related field is preferred

Experience 

  • Previous experience as a press operator or in a similar manufacturing environment required
  • Familiarity with operating press machines, reading technical drawings or instructions, using measuring tools, and production scheduling is required
