Registered Pharmacy Technician – Prescription Data Entry


Location: San Antonio, TX 78238

Work Location: Onsite initially, with potential transition to remote

Schedule: Monday–Friday during training; ongoing schedule provided below

Assignment Type: Temporary / Contingent

Pay Rate: $17.70


1) Summary

We are seeking Registered Pharmacy Technicians in Texas for a temporary Prescription Entry / Pharmacy Data Entry opportunity in San Antonio.

This role is focused primarily on prescription data entry, requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret prescription terminology and medication information.

Candidates must be available to work onsite in San Antonio for approximately 4–6 weeks while completing training and becoming acclimated to the position. Based on demonstrated performance and successful completion of training, the position may transition to a remote/offsite work arrangement.

Important: These positions are intended to be temporary assignments only and are not currently being positioned as a pathway to permanent employment.

Onsite interviews are required.


2) Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter prescription information into pharmacy systems while following established pharmacy procedures.
  • Review prescription information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Read and interpret prescription terminology, medication names, directions, and related information.
  • Assist with insurance verification by contacting insurance companies to obtain necessary information or authorizations.
  • Research and resolve insurance-related questions or issues.
  • Assist customers with questions regarding over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
  • Provide general guidance regarding non-prescription products within the scope of the role.
  • Process payments, copayments, insurance claims, and other pharmacy-related transactions as required.
  • Assist with pharmacy inventory, including over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
  • Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Prioritize work and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Support a professional, efficient, and customer-focused pharmacy environment.
  • Assist with additional pharmacy operations and administrative duties as assigned.


3) Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required and must be verifiable.
  • Approximately 3–6 months of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Experience with prescription data entry preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret prescription terminology and medication information.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask while working across multiple computer programs.
  • Comfortable working with pharmacy and prescription-related software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work onsite in San Antonio, Texas during the initial training period.
  • Must be available for an onsite interview.


Remote Work Requirements

For candidates who transition to remote work after the initial onsite period:

  • Must reside in the state of Texas.
  • Must have a secure, private room free from noise and distractions.
  • Workspace must have a closing door and an ergonomic-friendly desk and chair.
  • Must have your own reliable internet provider.
  • Must have a direct/hardwired connection from the computer to the modem/router within 10 feet.
  • Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload.
  • Wi-Fi and satellite internet are not permitted.
  • Must maintain a secure and private work environment while handling patient information.

Onboarding: Friday, October 2, 2026
Instructor Training Begins: Monday, October 5, 2026

Training Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM


Ongoing Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM


Candidates must be available for the full training schedule and initial onsite assignment.

Onsite-to-Remote Transition


New contingent workers will remain onsite for approximately 4–6 weeks to complete training and demonstrate proficiency in the role.


After the initial onsite period, candidates may be eligible to transition to remote work based on:

  • Demonstrated job performance
  • Accuracy and productivity
  • Successful completion of training
  • Ability to work independently
  • Compliance with remote-work requirements


Transition to remote work is not guaranteed.

  • Candidates must be Texas Registered Pharmacy Technicians.
  • CPhT certification is required.
  • Onsite interviews are required.
  • Initial work will be performed onsite in San Antonio.
  • Potential remote work is contingent upon performance and successful acclimation to the position.
  • Candidates must meet all technical and workspace requirements before transitioning to remote work.
