Job description

Balkan Beverage is a family-owned distributor operated by the Vukelic family, sharing services with Try-It Distributing and Saratoga Eagle Sales & Service—leading premium beverage distributors in New York State. Founded in 2004, the company began by servicing five counties with Red Bull and has since expanded to cover 48 counties statewide, representing major brands such as Arizona Iced Tea, NesQuik, and Liquid Death.

Position Summary:

To optimize execution at the account level and cost effectively distribute company products. Major objectives are to improve market share; distribution; account relationship; product shelf position; and optimize case sales per stop. As a sales assistant to the Area Managers and the Retail Sales Consultants, develop personal relationships with retailers to enhance a positive image of the Company by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions (must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Call on assigned accounts according to schedule approved by District Field Supervisor.
  • Responsible for coverage for all vacations and personal days in assigned team’s area.
  • Responsible for coverage for all holiday weeks in assigned teams’ area.
  • Responsible for the sales of all brands, packages and promotion offered by the Company.
  • Collect all accounts receivable within designates accounts per company policy.
  • Adheres to all sales standards (per sales manual) example: P.O.S., rotation etc.
  • Attends all sales functions (meetings, promotions etc).
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with sales and deliveries.
  • Merchandise customer accounts which includes: product rotation, shelf-replenishment, display and POS set up.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and access to a motor vehicle that has the capacity to transport POS during all working hours to be able to travel to multiple work locations as directed. 
  • Must complete all Red Bull Wing Tips training. 
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read labels and comprehend various coding systems.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 250 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment: 

The work environment is indoors but the employee is required to frequently work in a refrigerated atmosphere.
