About This Role
Sequoyah Hills Early Enrichment Program is a Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) play based, hands on, literacy rich 4 1/2 hour private church preschool that follows Knox County Schools annual calendar. The Pre K Lead Teacher will be responsible for managing the classroom and support student learning.
What You'll Do
*Plan, prepare, implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with TDHS licensing requirements and pre k readiness standards*Maintain a safe, structured, and happy classroom environment *Support children’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development*Observe, document, and assess student progress regularly*Communicate effectively, respectfully, and frequently with parents*Maintain accurate student records and licensing documentation*Collaborate with the assistant teacher, director, and other staff members*Model Christian values through words and actions *Comply with all TDHS and Sequoyah Hills Early Enrichment Program policies and procedures
Requirements
*CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field *Experience working with 4-5 year olds as a pre k teacher, or as a kindergarten teacher*Strong classroom management and communication skills*Ability to uphold the mission and values of Sequoyah Hills Early Enrichment Program*Must meet all TDHS childcare licensing requirements, including Background Check and Fingerprinting Health examination and TB screening Completion of all required TDHS training CPR/First Aid certification
