Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is an industry-leading provider for launch systems capabilities serving national security, military, civil and commercial customers. SSSD has an opening for a EST Pre-Apprenticeship Program Candidate to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
The Thermal Test Department is seeking a EST Pre-Apprenticeship Program Candidate. Candidates will learn to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in Production or Quality Assurance.
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be currently enrolled in El Camino College
  • Must be able to work part-time 16+ hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a lab environment or machine shop

Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
