As we expand our specialty services, we are seeking a Director of Podiatry to lead our growing podiatry program, oversee a team of podiatric providers, and perform both clinical and surgical podiatric care.

Position Overview

The Director of Podiatry will serve as the clinical and operational leader for Aizer Health's podiatry service line. This role combines direct patient care, surgical podiatry, and leadership responsibilities, including provider supervision, quality oversight, and program development. The Director will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, evidence-based podiatric care for patients across all ages and conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a podiatric surgeon who is passionate about community health, enjoys leading teams, and is motivated to build and shape a high-performing podiatry department. This role will entail about 80% clinical and 20% administrative responsibilities. Board-eligible or board-certified candidates are welcome to apply. Physicians who have recently completed an accredited Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency program are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Surgical Care 

  • Provide comprehensive podiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions.
  • Perform podiatric surgeries, including forefoot, rearfoot, and reconstructive procedures as credentialed.
  • Manage diabetic foot care, wound care, limb preservation, and high-risk patient populations.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and labs.
  • Provide patient education, preventive care, and follow-up management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.

Leadership & Program Oversight 

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of podiatric providers, including performance evaluations, onboarding, and clinical development.
  • Oversee podiatry workflows, quality metrics, and clinical standards utilizing data to ensure excellence in patient care. Focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to expand podiatry services, surgical offerings, and community outreach programs.
  • Develop and implement clinical protocols, best practices, and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Partner with nursing, care coordination, and administrative teams to optimize patient access and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the podiatry service line in an Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Collaboration & Community Impact

  • Work closely with primary care, endocrinology, vascular surgery, orthopedics, and other specialties to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in community health initiatives, screenings, and educational programs.
  • Support Aizer Health's mission to provide accessible, culturally sensitive care to underserved populations.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a CPME-approved 3-year podiatric surgical residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Foot Surgery and/or Reconstructive Rearfoot & Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
  • Active New York State license (or eligibility to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse or underserved communities is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is a plus.
  • New graduates and candidates who have recently completed an accredited Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency are encouraged to apply
