Front Office Clinic Assistant

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Front Office Clinic Assistant to join our Salem Health Center team! Bilingual Spanish required.

At PPCW, your work supports access to essential sexual and reproductive health care. As a Front Office Clinic Assistant, you'll be the first point of contact for patients—helping ensure every interaction is handled with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll help create a smooth, supportive experience for patients—from check-in to check-out.

On a typical day, you might:

  • Greet patients, check them in, and prepare paperwork
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and support patient questions
  • Enter and update patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Verify insurance and discuss payment or funding options with patients
  • Collect payments and complete daily balancing tasks
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to keep the clinic running on time
  • Help maintain a welcoming, organized front office environment

You'll play a key role in ensuring patients feel respected, informed, and supported throughout their visit.

Schedule & Location

Two part-time, on-site positions available at our Salem Health Center (22.5 hours/week. Training Schedule 30-37.5 hours per week).

You must be able to reliably work scheduled shifts.

Thursday - Friday - Saturday

9:00am - 5:00pm - 8:00am - 4:00pm - 7:30am - 3:30pm

Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday

8:45am - 4:45pm - 11:00am - 7:00pm - 10:30am - 6:30pm

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service or high-volume environment
  • Strong communication skills with diverse patients and teams
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning new systems
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a medical or front desk setting
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Basic knowledge of insurance, billing, or healthcare systems
  • Additional language skills

Pay & Growth

$20.37 – $29.68/hour Pay is based on experience and internal equity, with opportunities to grow over time.

Additional pay opportunities:

  • Bilingual premium: +$1.72/hour
  • Interpreter-level premium: +$3.44/hour
  • After 6 months, you may be eligible for additional clinical responsibilities that include extra hourly pay
