Faith Technologies Inc. (FTI) is currently seeking aPrincipal Power Electronics Engineer to join our Product Engineering team inMenasha, WI.

As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer within our R&D organization, you will lead efforts to define processes and strategies for the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge systems and technologies for power electronics components for use in microgrids, EV charging, oil and gas, and data center applications. Your responsibilities will include shaping technological roadmaps, developing & evaluating power electronic components, and providing technical leadership to support both R&D projects, product development and manufacturing processes. You will focus on developing component requirements and specifications standards, definition of electrical architectures, and validation processes, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to meet technical targets. By acting as a company-wide subject matter expert, you will play a pivotal role in influencing the future of technology and product development within the company. Additionally, you will establish partnerships with external suppliers and communicate results to key stakeholders, driving innovation and excellence in all our initiatives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or engineering equivalent
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in power electronics or related engineering role
  • Experience with high voltage converters/inverters
  • Experience with collaboration and implementation of modeling for system design
  • Ability to develop a technology roadmap and strategy for power electronics for microgrid, EV charging, and data center applications
  • Ability to establish strategic partnerships with external suppliers
  • Strong communication skills to provide clear recommendations and guidelines to stakeholders, technical development teams, and testing teams
  • Experience with lab equipment, instrumentation, and environment
  • Demonstrated experience providing strategic direction to company-wide product and technology roadmaps.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Deep knowledge in modern power electronics devices including Silicon IGBT, SiC and GaN MOSFET
  • Experience in the energy sector; with a focus on microgrid, DER products, power distribution systems and enclosures, battery energy storage systems.
  • Strong understanding of related regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to the relevant energy technologies: Microgrid, Power generation, and Energy storage.
  • Proven track record of leading successful projects in the renewable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated experience owning technology and product roadmaps for various programs

Travel: 5-10%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible to lead the efforts of characterizing size, performance, cost, and specification requirements for high voltage power electronics, including DC/DC and DC/AC power electronic converters
  • Develop and maintain documentation on component specifications, selection analysis, requirements, and simulation analysis
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of the electrical architecture for various microgrid and data center power generation and distribution programs
  • Summarize and communicate results to the key stakeholders
  • Work closely with controls, systems simulation and FEA/CFD engineers to communicate requirements, performance targets, and boundary conditions for modeling and simulation analysis of power electronic components
  • Establish partnerships with external suppliers to enable modular part reuse across multiple applications
  • Lead evaluation and benchmarking of new and competitive technologies
  • Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams across product development organization
  • Lead collaboration with manufacturing and other functions to meet technical requirements
  • Develop specialized knowledge and upskill the resources in power electronics across the company, including documentation and standards for product development
  • Lead the technology roadmap definition for power electronics for various markets and applications
  • Collaborate with Verification & Validation team to define DVP&Rs for testing of power electronics
  • Provide strategic guidance as subject matter expert across multiple company programs and projects requiring technology expertise.
  • Coordinate with the National Labs and Universities
  • Lead, train, and provide technical guidance to engineers
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
