You prepare outgoing mail for the mail carriers to distribute, as well as operate and adjust mail sorting machinery. As a USPS mail carrier, you load mail that has been sorted into your delivery truck or mailbag and deliver the mail according to a predetermined route by foot or truck. As a mail clerk, you work in the post office, helping customers prepare packages and envelopes for mailing. Your responsibilities include weighing packages, assisting customers to apply for passports, as well as selling postage, boxes, and envelopes.

What is the best paying job at the post office?

The highest paying positions at the post office are typically postal service managers or supervisors, who oversee operations and staff.
