POS Manager, Professional Services
About Payroc
Payroc is a global payments technology company helping businesses get paid, grow faster, and operate smarter. From powerful POS systems to seamless online and mobile payment solutions, we equip merchants with the tools they need to succeed in today’s fast-moving commerce landscape.
At Payroc, our culture is built around people who lead with grit, take ownership, and are not afraid to be a boss when it comes to driving results. We believe the best solutions start when we listen first to our customers, our partners, and each other so we can deliver payment experiences that truly make a difference for the businesses we serve.

If you are energized by building relationships, solving real business problems, and creating opportunities for yourself and your clients, Payroc is the kind of place where you can make an impact and grow your career.
Position Overview
The POS Project Manager is a hands-on, customer-facing role that goes beyond traditional project management by actively overseeing and supporting the installation, configuration, and deployment of POS and payment solutions. Serving as the primary point of contact throughout the implementation lifecycle, this individual coordinates project timelines, manages cross-functional teams, and works directly with merchants to ensure a seamless onboarding and successful go-live.
The ideal candidate combines strong project coordination skills with technical knowledge of POS systems and payment processing. They are comfortable managing multiple implementations while assisting with system configuration, hardware staging, installations, merchant training, troubleshooting, and ensuring a smooth transition to ongoing support.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive successful implementations tracking milestones, timelines and dependencies to ensure timely execution of projects. Document tasks and communication in project management software to ensure accountability and transparency. Identify risk, critical paths, forecast delays, and implement contingency plans. Proactively manage blockers and escalate when necessary.
  • Coordinate between key stakeholders to translate and align technical requirements. Ensure scope, timelines, and system capabilities are met. Conduct structured meetings using agendas and action trackers.
  • Analyze, design, build and customize merchant menu and retail databases to support complex hospitality and retail use cases, such as multi-revenue center setups, timed promotions, and tiered pricing.
  • Participate in testing and validation of database configurations (database review) prior to go-live, ensuring alignment with client expectations and operational readiness.
  • Perform end-to-end hardware and software imaging and staging to ensure proper configuration, testing, and readiness for deployment
  • Execute remote and on-site installations ensuring all POS technologies (e.g., terminals, printers, payment peripherals) are configured with merchant-specific settings. Validate site installation readiness using connectivity tests and checklist audits prior to installation and in alignment with merchant go-live targets. Coordinate with logistics and field service teams to align installations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and network configuration issues throughout implementation and post-deployment phases.
  • Train and assist merchant staff during go-live, offering real-time troubleshooting, operational guidance, and best practices for POS usage.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff from implementation to ongoing support. Monitor and resolve post-deployment issues during live transition including database configurations, technical blockers, and training.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in POS systems, SaaS onboarding, or payment processing within the payment or hospitality/retail technology industry
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant and retail POS platforms (e.g., Clover, Revel, Lightspeed, Toast) and related hardware
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Monday.com, Jira, or similar project tracking software
  • PMP, Scrum, or Agile certifications are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field preferred
Working Conditions
  • Combination of office-based, remote, and customer-site work, depending on implementation schedules and business needs.
  • Regular travel to customer locations for on-site installations, training, and implementation support, including occasional overnight travel as business needs require.
  • Frequent handling, movement, and setup of POS hardware and related equipment. This role may require moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds as part of installation and deployment activities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Travel Component
• 10-15%
