Job description

Deployment Systems Technician II

About POS360

We are a rapidly growing technology company specializing in point-of-sale payment processing and delivery integrations for locally owned brick-and-mortar stores. Our mission is to accelerate the transition from traditional electronic cash registers to powerful new point of sale products. Our highly specialized systems address the specific pain points identified through over a decade of working with neighborhood stores, markets, and restaurants. With an unrivaled dedication to delivering superior tools that are easy to use and a technical team providing industry-leading support, our systems open the door to the next level of success for our clients.

About The Role

The Deployment Systems Technician II plays a critical role in preparing, configuring, testing, and packaging technology equipment scheduled for deployment. This includes, but is not limited to, credit card terminals, 360 Pro register systems, printers, scanners, and related peripheral hardware.

This is an intermediate-level position within the Deployment Systems Technician track. The primary focus of the role is in-house pre-deployment work, including equipment preparation, quality checks, labeling, packing, documentation, and deployment readiness. However, this is not a warehouse-only position. Deployment Systems Technicians are also expected to understand and perform field deployment work and will complete a limited number of field installs each month to maintain practical installation knowledge.

At this level, the technician is expected to complete routine pre-deployment tasks with limited supervision, identify and resolve common preparation issues, and support both in-house and field deployment needs with greater independence.

In addition to technical responsibilities, this position may also support general warehouse, packaging, labeling, shipping, and equipment organization duties as needed.

What You’ll Own & Drive

Credit Card Terminal Management

  • Configure, program, and test credit card terminals prior to deployment.
  • Verify terminal setup, functionality, and deployment readiness before equipment leaves the office.
  • Assist deployment technicians with credit card terminal-related issues during deployments.
  • Provide support to Client Services for credit card terminal-related issues.
  • Collaborate with external technical support teams to ensure credit card terminals are properly configured and functioning as expected.
  • Identify and communicate recurring credit card terminal issues or setup concerns to senior staff, Leads, or management.

360 Pro System Preparation & Deployment

  • Conduct quality assurance checks on 360 Pro systems and associated peripheral hardware.
  • Prepare and package 360 Pro systems for deployment by technicians.
  • Confirm that required equipment, accessories, labels, documentation, and supporting materials are included before deployment.
  • Identify and correct common pre-deployment issues before equipment reaches the field.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pre-deployment workspace.
  • Complete assigned field installs each month to maintain field readiness and reinforce understanding of onsite installation requirements.
  • Perform standard onsite installations involving 360 Pro systems, payment terminals, printers, scanners, and related hardware.
  • Support field technicians during deployments by assisting with equipment setup, testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Communicate field observations back to the in-house team when those observations may improve staging, configuration, labeling, documentation, or packaging.

Warehouse & General Operations

  • Support warehouse operations, including packaging, labeling, organizing, and shipping equipment.
  • Serve as a backup for the Warehouse Clerk and Assembler as needed.
  • Assist with organizing equipment, deployment materials, and work areas to support efficient department operations.
  • Communicate equipment issues, missing components, deployment concerns, or repeated preparation issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Follow established checklists, procedures, and quality standards to ensure work is completed accurately and consistently.
  • Assist Level I technicians by answering routine questions and modeling proper preparation and deployment standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in POS, field installation, technical support, or a related technical environment.
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems and hardware.
  • Proficiency with basic network configuration, including IP settings.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to complete routine staging, configuration, testing, packaging, and quality control work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to perform standard field deployment assignments as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning, task completion, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to follow direction and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work professionally with management, deployment technicians, warehouse staff, and Client Services.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Have a valid TX drivers license

Benefits

  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible working hours
  • Free on-site gym access

Position is full-time working remotely out of the Austin, DFW, or Houston, TX areas.
Travel required throughout the state. (Company Vehicle supplied)
Compensation: $24.00 - $31.00 an hour
