Job Summary

The Director, U.S. Portfolio leads commercial evaluation and portfolio strategy for pipeline and business development opportunities, with a focus on inorganic growth, pre-launch value creation, and product opportunity identification. This role identifies, assesses, and prioritizes ANDA, 505(b)(2), and complex generic opportunities through commercial diligence, financial modeling, and cross-functional decision-making.

As a key partner to Business Development and Global Portfolio, the Director drives deal evaluation and executive recommendations by integrating market insights, competitive dynamics, regulatory considerations, and financial analysis. The role oversees forecasting, scenario planning, and risk assessment to support investment decisions and maximize portfolio value.

Working closely with Finance, BD, Regulatory, IP/Legal, Global Portfolio, and R&D, this individual ensures assets are strategically aligned, appropriately valued, and commercially viable, while leading pre-launch planning, pricing strategy, and lifecycle management to optimize long-term returns.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for researching, integrating and translating market research insights into opportunities and strategies that shape decisions and drive organizational action for the US business
  • Responsible for US pipeline strategy including product identification and selection
  • Monitor and evaluate brand products and projections to identify early stage, first-to-file candidates, including brand lifecycle management strategies
  • Oversee pipeline financial and demand forecasts while identifying risk and opportunity scenarios for proper escalation and decision-making including go/no-go strategies
  • Lead pre-launch market research initiatives by partnering with Apotex market research firm to deliver insights that support a financial forecast and commercial strategy
  • Lead commercial evaluation of external BD opportunities, including market sizing, competitive landscape, pricing, and access considerations
  • Develop robust financial models to assess asset value and inform deal negotiations
  • Synthesize cross-functional inputs (Regulatory, Legal, R&D, Finance) into clear executive recommendations to support pipeline and BD activities
  • Identify key risks, sensitivities, and value drivers to support investment decisions and portfolio prioritization
  • Lead US Portfolio team initiatives including bi-annual forecast matrix assumption alignment and data/technology improvement projects
  • Ensure robust forecast methodologies and drive analytics and reporting to create pipeline transparency, identify gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Identify potential assets for acquisition and align with commercial, BD and Global Portfolio on strategy, deal management and deal execution.
  • Support corporate market assessment data needs for communications to executive leadership, finance and investor relations
  • Act as the key contact for all databases (e.g., IQVIA, IPDAnalytics, AlphaSense, DataMonitor, etc.)
  • Lead strategic projects and initiatives that drive portfolio value
  • Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations
  • All other relevant duties as assigned
  • Assist and/or create presentations with a strong attention to detail
  • Manage 3+ direct reports, serve as the local lead to manage Global Business Support and corp employee
  • Recruit, train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of their direct reports, which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Ensure direct report job descriptions are regularly reviewed, documented, and maintained in accordance with global processes.
    • Support employee development through ongoing training, qualification, and development planning aligned with global policies.
    • Manage performance and talent effectively, including employee development, retention, and succession planning.
    • Ensure team compliance with ethics, quality, safety, environmental, and HR policies.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and globally minded team culture.
    • Conduct all work in accordance with the Code of Conduct, Business Ethics, and applicable regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements.
Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience as a people leader.
  • Prior generic pharmaceutical experience in evaluating products, forecasting and product selection
  • Extensive knowledge across multiple segments of the generic market and experience designing and implementing go-to-market strategies
  • Experience in managing market research projects
  • Knowledge of various regulatory pathways to bring products to market, product development and intellectual property (IP) landscape
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking ability and strong data mining skills
  • Strong and proven quantitative, qualitative, analytical reasoning and communication skills

ย Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
