CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Portal Developer within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must have a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your knowledge on a highly collaborative team to deliver state-of-the-art capabilities.
The Portal Developer designs, develops, tests, and maintains web-based portals, which are applications that provide users with access to information and services. Key responsibilities include coding with technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; collaborating with teams to analyze user needs and design solutions; ensuring quality and performance; and potentially managing content and integrations with other systems.
CGI Federal is growing its high-performance team whose members share a passion for building high-quality, scalable, advanced IT solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced, outcome-driven mission.
This position is located in USA VA Arlington, however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Design and Development: Create new web applications and features for various types of portals, such as customer portals, internal dashboards, or ServiceNow service portals.
• Coding and Implementation: Write high-quality, testable code using languages like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, often incorporating specific portal frameworks such as Liferay or ServiceNow's Jelly and Angular.
• User Experience (UI/UX): Design and implement user-friendly interfaces, ensuring they match provided designs and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Testing and Debugging: Develop and execute tests to ensure software quality and functionality, and debug issues that arise.
• Technical Documentation: Document the development process, software architecture, and operating instructions.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to gather requirements and deliver on project goals.
• Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support for portal applications, which can include troubleshooting, performance optimization, and managing software updates and migrations.
• Compliance: Ensure developed solutions meet technical specifications, security standards, and industry best practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Education and/or Experience: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 5 to 8 years of experience
• Security Clearance: Secret
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript (client-side and server-side), HTML, and CSS is essential.
• Frameworks: Experience with specific portal frameworks like Liferay, ServiceNow, or Content Management Systems (CMS).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and user needs.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to specifications.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration.
• Development Lifecycle: Understanding of the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $200000.00.
