The position plays a key role in advancing public health research and community-based initiatives through data management, analysis, project coordination, and scholarly dissemination. This position supports all phases of research and evaluation projects, including literature reviews, participant engagement, partnership development, grant proposal preparation, manuscript development, and the translation of findings into actionable reports, presentations, and publications.Job Description:
Job Duties Outlined:
Data Management & Research Activities
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain multiple online databases and assessments.
  • Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to support project evaluation and reporting.
  • Perform data management, statistical analysis, and reporting using SPSS, SAS, and/or Excel.
  • Coordinate participant follow-up activities, including survey administration and response tracking to maximize completion rates.
  • Conduct, analyze, and interpret follow-up assessments to demonstrate progress made, as well as serve as a key contributor on related research publications.
  • Prepare reports, data summaries, and presentations for funders, partners, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols, institutional policies, and the ethical conduct of research related to human subjects' research.

Project Coordination & Partner Engagement
  • Recruit and engage community and organizational partners to support successful implementation of projects.
  • Schedule and coordinate partner trainings, outreach activities, meetings, and other events.
  • Manage continuing education credit administration through AHEC.
  • Coordinate and track payment processing to ensure timely completion of financial obligations.
  • Maintain regular communication with Research Manager, project partners, and other stakeholders regarding project activities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with community partners, researchers, and subject matter experts to support program implementation, evaluation, and dissemination efforts.

Scholarly Activities & Other Responsibilities
  • Conduct literature reviews to inform research studies, grant proposals, manuscripts, and program development activities.
  • Update applicable statistics, citations, and supporting documentation used in publications, reports, and funding proposals.
  • Assist with the development, preparation, and submission of grant proposals.
  • Serve as key contributor on research publications; conduct data analysis, author major sections of research paper, and responsible for publication submittals to journal for approval.
  • Lead and support special projects and technical assistance for community partners and stakeholders as needs are identified.

Required Qualifications:
Work Experience:
  • Five (5) years of experience in public health or a health related field. Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience in managing data systems using SPSS, SAS, and/or Excel.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
