Job description

Job Title: Pool Attendant Employment Status: Seasonal, Part-time, Non-Exempt

Department: Community Management Regular hours: Tues โ€“ Sun 12pm -6:30pm

Reports to: Community Manager

SUMMARY

Under the direction and general supervision of the onsite Community Manager, the Pool Attendant performs a variety of tasks related to maintaining the pool area and upholding pool rules. This may include assisting guests, enforcing rules, and maintaining the pool area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Monitors gate to ensure only authorized guests are allowed into the pool area.
  2. Ensures that everyone is following facility rules.
  3. Maintains sanitary conditions and cleanliness of all facilities within the pool area and pool deck.
  4. Monitors the pool area to prevent injuries and provide care as needed.
  5. Ensures the safety of patrons, pool decks and storage areas by safeguarding the areas from possible obstacles or hazards.
  6. Maintains all safety equipment and reports any faulty equipment concerns to the Community Manager.
  7. Examines injured persons and administers first aid, if necessary, using training, medical supplies and equipment.
  8. Contacts emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury.
  9. Helps keep guests calm during an emergency situation.
  10. Deals with any services that may be needed in an emergency.
  11. Notifies Community Management of any issues or concerns.
  12. Prepares and maintains accurate work records in accordance with Department procedures.
  13. Performs all work safely in accordance with OSHA and Company standards.
  14. Attends Department meetings as required.
  15. Follows Company policies and procedures including Employee Handbook and operating procedures.
  1. Works outside in a variety of weather conditions. Must be able to swim, stand, bend, climb ladders and kneel. Must be able to lift objects unassisted weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
  2. Maintains excellent attendance to ensure responsibilities are met. Normal work week is Tuesday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. โ€“ 6:30 p.m.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

  • Must be certified in First Aid and CPR
  • Red Cross Lifeguard Certification strongly preferred
  • Must be able to read instructions and communicate effectively in English
  • High school education or GED
  • Reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated ability to apply common sense and reasoning to solve problems
