As a Political Risk Analyst, your day-to-day tasks often include monitoring current events, analyzing country-specific political developments, and producing comprehensive reports to inform clients of emerging risks. You'll frequently collaborate with colleagues across research, finance, and strategy teams, and may participate in client meetings to discuss findings or offer guidance. Analysts also use a range of specialist sources and databases to track geopolitical trends and synthesize relevant data. This dynamic role often requires balancing rapid response to breaking news with in-depth, longer-term research projects.
A Political Risk Analyst assesses the potential impact of political events, economic policies, regulatory changes, and social movements on businesses, investments, and markets. They research geopolitical trends, evaluate government stability, and provide insights to help organizations mitigate risks. Analysts work for corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, and consulting firms. We are seeking a TaxManagerfor our Real Estate group. We serve a broad array of real estate owners, developers, and investors including public and private companies, homebuilders, real estate opportunity funds, hotel companies, private equity firms, REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts), and brokerage companies. Our people work on key client issues in domestic federal taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's businessobjectives.
As a Tax Manager for RSM you willbe responsible forthe following job duties which are focused around three core concepts (Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development):
Serve as a Career Advisor,mentoror coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest andtimelyperformance feedback -approximately 10- 20%of your time
Train and develop staff members -approximately 10-20% of your time
Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns -approximately upto 35% of your time
Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner tofacilitatecommunication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm
Serve as the Tax client service coordinator forappropriate clients
Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general mergers and acquisitions activities
Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
Assistwith new business development, extendedserviceand tax issue recognition for existing clients
Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal andstatetax compliance
Remainup-to-dateon current tax practices and changes in tax law
Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree - preferably inAccountingor related field of study
CPA, JD, LLM, or EA
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Public Accounting
Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
Experience with one or more of the following: S-Corps, C-Corps, or Partnerships
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, industry specialization a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxesin accordance withASC 740's
Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $95,400 - $180,400Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
