Job description

Blue Wire is a premium network of independent sports podcasts covering a diverse range of league and team content, built around the simple idea that creators would be more successful if they worked together. This concept is the foundation of Blue Wire’s network of 310+ shows spanning national juggernauts like 4th & 1 with Cam Newton, Backyard Golf with D’Angelo Russell, and Above the Rim with Dwight Howard to regional hits such as The Kevin Sheehan Show, Light Years, and many more.

Together, we help creators achieve success by supporting the creative and multichannel monetization process while building meaningful connections between audiences and advertisers. At our core, we believe that hustle, authenticity, and community are cornerstones of success, and these are the values that connect our employees, network podcasts, and listeners alike.

Position Overview

Blue Wire is seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Director of Brand Partnerships to help accelerate advertising revenue across our podcast network. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will be responsible for developing and closing advertising partnerships with brands and agencies while positioning Blue Wire as a leading destination for sports podcast advertising.

The ideal candidate is a proactive seller who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the digital media landscape, and can effectively communicate the value of podcast advertising to prospective clients. This individual will own the sales process from prospecting and outreach through proposal development, negotiation, and campaign launch, working closely with internal teams to deliver successful advertiser outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect, develop, and close new advertising partnerships with brands, agencies, and media buyers across Blue Wire’s podcast portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of advertising opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Create compelling, consultative sales presentations that align advertiser objectives with Blue Wire’s podcast, social, video, and branded content offerings.
  • Leverage audience insights, content programming, talent affiliations, and the sports calendar to identify and package sponsorship opportunities.
  • Respond to RFPs and develop custom proposals, media plans, and pricing recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal operations and production teams to ensure seamless campaign execution and delivery.
  • Maintain strong advertiser relationships to drive renewals, upsells, and long-term partnerships.
  • Track sales activity, revenue forecasting, and pipeline performance to help achieve company growth targets.
  • Represent Blue Wire at industry conferences, client meetings, and marketplace events.
  • Contribute to sales strategy, inventory packaging, and go-to-market initiatives that support network-wide revenue growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in media sales, advertising sales, sponsorship sales, or digital marketing partnerships.
  • Proven track record of generating revenue and closing advertising deals with brands and/or agencies.
  • Strong understanding of podcast advertising and the broader digital media ecosystem, including audio, social, video, branded content, measurement, and targeting.
  • Skilled presenter with experience developing persuasive sales materials and client-facing proposals.
  • Working knowledge of media math, campaign pricing, and advertising performance metrics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to thrive in a growing and evolving business.
  • Sports enthusiast with a strong understanding of major leagues, teams, athletes, and cultural storylines.
  • Experience selling creator-led, sports, podcast, or digital media inventory is strongly preferred.
Success in This Role
  • Consistently generates new advertiser relationships and revenue opportunities.
  • Expands Blue Wire’s presence among agencies and brand marketers.
  • Develops creative sponsorship programs that drive measurable results for advertisers.
