Podcast hosts often encounter challenges such as securing engaging guests, managing tight recording schedules, and ensuring high-quality audio. Balancing thorough research with conversational spontaneity can also be demanding, as hosts aim to deliver value while keeping discussions natural. Additionally, technical issues and the need for effective post-production collaboration with editors and producers are frequent hurdles. Being adaptable and developing strong organizational skills can help podcast hosts navigate these complexities successfully.

About Us
American Trade Group, Inc. is a diversified organization supporting the construction and building industries through a portfolio of companies including American Lumber, a leading manufacturer and wholesale distributor; Lane One Transport, a transportation and logistics company; and Rafter 12 Custom Homes.
Founded in 1986, American Trade Group has a strong history of consistent year-over-year growth. American Lumber has been recognized as an Aggie 100 company, honoring the fastest-growing businesses owned or operated by Texas A&M University alumni.
At American Trade Group, we focus on solving real problems, supporting our partners, and building long-term relationships-both internally and externally. Our culture is grounded in service, innovation, and partnership, with a shared commitment to strengthening the communities we serve.
The Role
The Podcast Host (Independent Contractor) serves as the voice and facilitator of the American Trade Group podcast. This person will guide thoughtful, engaging conversations that highlight our people, customers, partners, and industry insights while reinforcing our mission and values.
This is a contract position requiring approximately 4 hours per month (or less), ideal for an experienced host, communicator, or industry professional who enjoys storytelling and conversation-driven content.
What You'll Do
  • Host and facilitate podcast episodes, creating an engaging, professional, and authentic listener experience
  • Prepare for episodes by reviewing outlines, guest backgrounds, and key discussion topics
  • Conduct interviews with internal leaders, team members, customers, and industry partners
  • Keep conversations aligned with company values, messaging, and brand voice
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on episode themes, goals, and guest selection
  • Maintain energy, clarity, and flow throughout each recording
  • Represent American Trade Group in a polished, professional manner during recordings
  • Provide light feedback or suggestions to improve episode quality and listener engagement
  • Commit to scheduled recordings and preparation time (approx. 4 hours per month)

Who You Are
  • Experienced communicator, podcast host, interviewer, or facilitator (professional or semi-professional experience preferred)
  • Comfortable leading conversations with executives, frontline employees, and external partners
  • Strong verbal communication skills with a confident, approachable presence
  • Naturally curious, thoughtful, and prepared-able to ask engaging follow-up questions
  • Dependable and professional, with respect for schedules and deadlines
  • Able to operate independently and collaborate effectively with an internal team
  • Familiarity with business, construction, manufacturing, logistics, or related industries is a plus, but not required
  • Aligned with a people-first, customer-obsessed culture

Why You'll Love Working With Us
  • Flexible, low-time commitment (ideal side project)
  • Contractor arrangement with clear scope and expectations
  • Opportunity to work closely with leaders across a growing organization
  • Creative freedom within an established brand and mission
  • Meaningful storytelling that showcases people, partnerships, and real-world problem-solving
  • A values-driven organization committed to service, innovation, and partnership

If you enjoy facilitating great conversations, bringing stories to life, and helping share the voice of a growing organization, we'd love to hear from you!
