Job description

Rusty Rail Brewing Company is hiring a Head Host. The Head Host is responsible for leading the front-of-house support team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and managing reservations and seating arrangements in a casual fine dining setting. The host stand is the first area guests see when they walk through the door, and the Head Host monitors the cleanliness and presentation of the front area, ensuring it meets the establishment's standards at all times. The ideal candidate has strong organizational abilities to manage reservations and seating efficiently, especially during busy periods, and must be able to coordinate with other hosts, servers, and support staff to ensure guests are seated timely and in order.

Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and seating guests with the utmost hospitality
  • Taking phone calls
  • Answering customer questions, in particular coordinating with customers who have upcoming reservations
  • Communicating with kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and support staff
  • Manage reservations and waitlists
  • Training host staff and assisting with supervising front of house support staff
  • Monitoring dining room flow

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Prior restaurant/hospitality experience with a solid understanding of front-of-house operations (preferred)
