What you will do
As a Fire Project Manager 3, you will lead moderately complex fire protection and life-safety projects with medium to high corporate priority. You will provide project management expertise from scope definition and planning through closeout, while maintaining control of schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do
  • Lead fire alarm and Fire Protection related fire/life-safety projects from setup through final closeout.
  • Define project scope, identify risks, prioritize work, and support project methodology.
  • Set up local project offices and coordinate resources, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Track schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide project updates, cycle reviews, and expected results to management and customers.
  • Monitor installation progress, resolve issues, and help keep projects on time and in scope.
  • Maintain strong customer communication and follow up promptly on concerns or issues.
  • Conduct worksite inspections and help ensure workmanship meets Johnson Controls quality standards.

How you'll do it
  • Use PMI methodology to manage integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement.
  • Stay close to the work by leading project resources, clarifying responsibilities, and removing obstacles for customers and field teams.
  • Own outcomes with accountability by tracking expenditures, reviewing progress reports, and maintaining full financial control of the project.
  • Use AIA standards to understand internal and external cost structures and translate financial information accurately.
  • Improve every day by inspecting work in progress, addressing problems early, and using candid, practical problem-solving.
  • Win as one team through timely communication and collaboration with project staff, customers, management, and vendors.
  • Provide clear, concise, and professional support so issues are resolved quickly and customer confidence stays high.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent work experience of at least five years.
  • Five years of project management experience in the Fire Protection and new construction environment.
  • Experience leading moderately complex projects with schedule, cost, quality, and
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple project priorities

Preferred
  • Experience with fire sprinkler and fire alarm or broader fire/life-safety systems.
  • Texas State Fire Alarm License .
  • PMI PMP (Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional).
  • Ability to acquire certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,400.00 - 130k (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
