Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale Epic initiatives with a primary focus on Epic Revenue Cycle (front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end operations) and Epic Research implementations. This individual will be responsible for managing complex, enterprise-wide projects, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic healthcare IT initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Epic Revenue Cycle workflows and proven experience leading large healthcare technology implementations. Epic Research implementation experience is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for Epic Revenue Cycle initiatives, including Patient Access, Scheduling, Registration, Authorization, Billing, Claims, and Revenue Integrity workflows.
- Manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects involving clinical, operational, revenue cycle, and IT stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, risk logs, and executive-level status reporting.
- Coordinate activities across Epic application teams, operational leaders, vendors, and third-party partners.
- Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, and stakeholder communications.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues while developing mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Drive implementation, optimization, upgrade, and integration efforts across Epic Revenue Cycle applications.
- Support Epic Research implementations and integrations, including coordination with research administration, finance, compliance, and clinical operations teams.
- Ensure project deliverables meet organizational objectives, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead change management, adoption, and readiness activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of healthcare IT project management experience.
- Extensive experience leading Epic Revenue Cycle projects across front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end workflows.
- Proven track record managing large-scale healthcare system implementations, upgrades, or transformations.
- Strong understanding of Epic Revenue Cycle applications, including one or more of the following:
- Prelude
- Cadence
- Grand Central
- Resolute Hospital Billing (HB)
- Resolute Professional Billing (PB)
- Claims
- Revenue Integrity
- Patient Estimates
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in project planning, budgeting, risk management, and governance.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading Epic Research implementations.
- Epic certification(s) and/or experience supporting Epic application teams.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience within large integrated delivery networks, academic medical centers, or multi-hospital health systems.
- Knowledge of clinical research workflows, grants management, research billing compliance, and study financial management.
