Position Summary

The Commercial Plumbing Install Helper assists experienced plumbers with the installation of plumbing systems on commercial construction projects. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, learning a skilled trade, and being part of a team that builds critical infrastructure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist plumbers with the installation of commercial plumbing systems
  • Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment
  • Carry, organize, and stage materials and equipment for installation
  • Assist with installing pipe and fittings including PVC, CPVC, copper, cast iron, and steel
  • Help install floor drains, roof drains, cleanouts, fixtures, and venting systems
  • Support installation of potable water, sanitary, storm, and gas piping systems
  • Assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, and hanging piping systems
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Attend training sessions and actively develop plumbing skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled trade
  • Previous construction, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or trade school experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely perform physical job duties throughout a full workday
