Job Description
At Shell Bay Club, we pride ourselves on offering a golf experience that is both refined and memorable. As a Seasonal Player Service Member, you will be at the forefront of delivering that experience. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the golf facility and is often the first and last point of contact for members and their guests. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a seamless, service-driven experience that reflects the elegance, hospitality, and exclusivity of Shell Bay.

You’ll be responsible for greeting guests with warmth and professionalism, maintaining the appearance and functionality of golf carts and practice facilities, and anticipating the needs of players before they arise.

Responsibilities
Provide a warm and professional greeting to all members and guests upon arrival
Working valet will be a portion of the job, ensure professional and timely care to the arrival & departure of both members and guests
Assist with loading and unloading golf bags from vehicles, bag storage, and golf carts with care and efficiency
Offer assistance, directions, and general knowledge about the course, facilities, and club offerings
Maintain a poised and polished appearance and demeanor while engaging in friendly, service-driven interactions
Prepare and stage golf carts to Shell Bay Club standards, ensuring each is fully equipped with: pencils, towels, tees, water bottles, sand bottles
Clean, sanitize, and restock carts after each use, ensuring consistent presentation and readiness
Perform daily inspections of golf carts to identify mechanical issues and report to supervisors as needed
Keep the cart barn, staging areas, and valet zones clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Set up, restock, and maintain practice areas including the driving range, short game area, and putting greens
Collect, clean, and restock range balls throughout the day using range picker equipment and hand baskets
Replace broken tees, empty trash bins, and tidy up all practice areas regularly
Provide club cleaning service before and after each round with attention to detail and care
Organize and store member bags accurately in the designated bag room system
Maintain a clean and efficient bag storage system and assist with locating bags when needed
Assist with golf event and tournament preparations, including the setup of cart signs, scorecards, goodie bags, tee gifts, signage, and water stations
Provide real-time assistance during events, such as escorting players, locating missing equipment, or restaging carts for a shotgun start
Help with breakdown and clean-up following tournaments to ensure a seamless transition to daily operations
Monitor on-course water stations, towel coolers, and sand/seed mix refills throughout the day
Provide on-course assistance during peak times, including shuttling players, spotting on certain holes, or restocking supplies
Report any member feedback, lost items, course issues, or guest concerns to the Golf Shop or management team promptly

Education & Experience Requirements
Current college students or recent graduates pursuing a career in golf management, hospitality, sports business, or a related field are highly encouraged to apply
Prior experience in a private club, golf course, or high-end hospitality setting is preferred but not required
Demonstrated interest in pursuing a long-term career in golf operations, instruction, or professional golf (PGA/PGM pathway candidates welcome)
A basic understanding of the game of golf, its etiquette, and pace-of-play principles is expected
Must be comfortable working in a physically active, outdoor environment for extended periods

Working Conditions
This position requires working primarily outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including heat, humidity, wind, and occasional rain
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift
Frequent lifting, pushing, and carrying of golf bags, equipment, and other items weighing up to 40 lbs
Requires manual dexterity and the ability to operate golf carts, range pickers, and light equipment safely and responsibly
During the season, must be able to work weekends, holidays and/or evenings if required
