Job description

Talladega College Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the continued growth and success of the Tornadoes Volleyball program. Reporting directly to the Head Volleyball Coach, the Assistant Coach will assist with on-court coaching, player development, recruiting, game preparation, and administrative operations while upholding the mission and values of Talladega College and NAIA athletics.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Coaching & Player Development (Approx. 40%)

? Assist in planning and conducting daily practices that emphasize skill development, team systems, conditioning, and volleyball IQ

? Provide position-specific instruction and technical feedback to student-athletes ? Evaluate athlete performance and contribute to individualized development plans ? Support strength, conditioning, and injury-prevention efforts in coordination with athletic training staff

2. Recruiting & Talent Evaluation (Approx. 25%)

? Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes through film review, scouting, camps, showcases, and communication

? Assist with official and unofficial visits, prospect communication, and recruiting follow-up ? Maintain recruiting records and databases in accordance with NAIA eligibility and recruiting regulations

? Collaborate with admissions, financial aid, and compliance to support roster management

3. Game Preparation & Strategy (Approx. 20%)

? Assist the Head Coach with game planning, scouting reports, lineups, and match strategy

? Analyze opponent film and contribute to tactical adjustments

? Support match-day preparation, warm-ups, and in-game responsibilities

4. Administrative Support & Collaboration (Approx. 10%)

? Work collaboratively with athletic training, academic support, and game management staff

? Assist with team travel planning, practice logistics, and program operations ? Help maintain statistics, reports, and internal documentation as directed

5. Other Duties (Approx. 5%)

? Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletics Administration ? Uphold and ensure compliance with Talladega College, NAIA, HBCUAC conference, and policies

? Serve as a positive mentor and role model for student-athletes
