What you will have an opportunity to do:

Job Summary:

The Assistant Golf Academy Teaching Professional supports the development of student-athletes by providing high-quality golf instruction, mentoring, and coaching within a college preparatory school environment. Working closely with the Director of Instruction and academy staff, this role helps students improve their technical skills, course management, physical conditioning, mental performance, and character while fostering academic success and sportsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and delivering daily golf instruction for students of varying skill levels.

Teach golf fundamentals, including full swing, short game, putting, bunker play, and on-course strategy.

Conduct individual and group lessons using modern teaching techniques and video analysis technology.

Support player development plans by tracking performance and providing constructive feedback.

Supervise practice sessions, tournaments, and academy events.

Assist with tournament preparation, scheduling, and travel as assigned.

Promote proper golf etiquette, integrity, sportsmanship, and respect on and off the course.

Collaborate with coaches, faculty, and parents to support students' athletic and academic development.

Help maintain academy equipment, training facilities, and practice areas.

Ensure compliance with school policies, safety procedures, and governing body regulations.

Mentor student-athletes in leadership, goal setting, time management, and personal responsibility.

Participate in admissions events, camps, clinics, and community outreach programs as needed.

Qualifications:

PGA Associate or PGA Professional preferred (or actively pursuing PGA membership).

Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, Business, or a related field preferred.

Previous golf coaching or teaching experience with junior or high school athletes.

Strong knowledge of golf instruction, player development, and swing analysis.

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes in a positive learning environment.

Proficiency with golf instruction technology is preferred.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel for tournaments and recruiting events.

Preferred Skills

Experience working in a golf academy or collegiate development program.

Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles for golfers.

Familiarity with college recruiting processes.

Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.

Strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and student-centered education.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate golf techniques for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry golf equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for tournaments when necessary.

Work Environment:

This position is based primarily at the school's golf academy, practice facilities, and partner golf courses. The role includes classroom interaction, outdoor instruction, tournament travel, and participation in school events throughout the academic year.
