Your Opportunity:
As the Planning Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that production, inventory, and materials planning processes run efficiently to meet customer delivery expectations. You will supervise the daily planning and scheduling functions while driving alignment across Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Distribution.
What You'll Be Doing On A Daily Basis:
• Support site goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost by ensuring accurate, proactive planning.
• Maintain finished goods and component stocking strategies to support customer lead time expectations and OTD performance.
• Develop planning and production scheduling processes that balance manufacturing load, labor efficiency, and working capital targets.
• Improve inventory control accuracy through strong ERP discipline, material master accuracy, and cycle count/physical inventory support.
• Serve as a cross-functional partner who ensures customer commitments are met while supporting new products, seasonal demand, and special programs.
• Contribute as a frontline leader who models core values and builds a culture of communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
• Supervise planners and/or planning workflows, ensuring schedules are accurate, communicated, and aligned to customer expectations.
• Review, release, and adjust production schedules to account for equipment issues, material constraints, labor availability, or order changes.
• Lead daily/weekly planning meetings and serve as the main point of contact for scheduling updates, risks, and recovery plans.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Customer Service to resolve order issues and prevent delays.
• Monitor critical orders and coordinate with Purchasing on material shortages or expedite needs.
• Maintain production planning tools, reports, capacity models, and system data to ensure visibility and accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to ERP planning parameters-including lead times, order policies, item master accuracy, and inventory settings.
• Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
• Generate and maintain the POR (Planned Order Report), capacity plans, and stock order recommendations.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in planning processes, load leveling, and inventory accuracy.
• Escalate risks or constraints to upper management in a timely manner.
• Provide administrative and clerical support for planning and production control activities as needed.
Education / Certifications Required:
• 3+ years of experience in Production Control, Scheduling, or Planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, shop floor scheduling, and capacity planning.
• Proven ability to supervise or lead teams, or demonstrated readiness for a frontline leadership role.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with numbers, reports, and capacity/load data.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and departments.
• A strong sense of urgency and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
• Experience with inventory practices, ERP data accuracy, and materials planning best practices.
• High school diploma required; some college or a bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM) preferred or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods
