Job Summary:

The Logistics Operator verifies parts and packs them using a variety of packing materials and methods. The Logistics Operator creates the manifest for shipment with the carrier, creates shipping paperwork, and arranges carrier pick-up if needed. This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager. Responsible for promoting ana environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement and support for strategic value stream goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Match finished good sand parts with documentation and check correct type and quantity being shipped
  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to build protective packaging; may receive direction in the form of verbal or written work to complete assigned work
  • Pack shipping cartons with parts in compliance with standard work to prevent damage and/or excess costs
  • Accurately generate carrier shipping labels and shipping documents
  • Stage outbound shipments by carrier
  • Follow work instructions and training guides
  • Follow safety rules and wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • All other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • High School education or an equivalence of a G.E.D. required
  • Required experience or abilities to carry out the Logistics Operator Responsibilities
  • Shipping or receiving experience a plus

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move items (typically up to 50 lbs).
  • Use hands and arms to handle or operate tools and equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
