Job description

Precision Industrial Contractors (PIC) is seeking experienced Pipe Fitters to join our growing team. Our Pipe Fitters are responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining industrial piping systems for a variety of commercial and industrial projects throughout the United States.

This is a traveling position with project assignments throughout the United States. Travel is required, and job site locations vary based on project workload.


PIC offers competitive wages, per diem, travel pay, and project completion per diem for qualifying projects.


General Purpose & Scope of Position

The Pipe Fitter installs, assembles, repairs, and maintains piping systems according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards. This position requires the ability to accurately interpret drawings, fabricate piping systems, and ensure installations are completed safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and specifications.
  • Plan pipe layouts to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other trades.
  • Measure, cut, bevel, thread, groove, and prepare pipe for installation.
  • Assemble and install carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and other piping systems.
  • Install valves, fittings, flanges, supports, hangers, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Perform hydrostatic and pressure testing to verify system integrity.
  • Install hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems.
  • Maintain proper alignment and elevations of piping systems.
  • Ensure work complies with applicable codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and rigging equipment safely.
  • Assist with startup, repairs, and modifications of industrial piping systems.
  • Work effectively with welders, supervisors, and other trades.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous industrial pipe fitting experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and piping drawings.
  • Knowledge of industrial piping materials and installation methods.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NCCER Pipefitter Certification.
  • Experience in industrial, refinery, pulp & paper, power generation, or manufacturing facilities.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
