Job description

Job Duties
  • Responsible for daily Pre-Task Planning of work performed in the field
  • Assist journeyman pipefitters or peers with the demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and/or installation of equipment, supports, and pipe on site
  • Communicate clearly verbally, digitally, and in writing
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Proactively receive mentoring from a journeyman pipefitter or Supervisors
  • Use hand and power tools with proper certification
  • Over the four-year period of the apprenticeship, learn and apply knowledge of the following:
  • Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems
  • Making and reading isometric drawings
  • Reading construction plans and shop drawings for pipe systems
  • Inspecting and testing piping systems
  • Piping industry codes
  • May be required to take Pipefitter Journeyman License Test after four years
  • May be required to travel
  • Maintain a good attendance record and comply with apprenticeship program requirements
  • Maintain a record of on-the-job training and submit to apprenticeship program as required
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays
